Testing your Disaster Recovery Set

NOTE: This section applies to Windows 95 and Windows 98 only.
After you have created the Disaster Recovery Set, you will be asked if you
would like to test the DR Set. Testing the DR Set is very similar to
performing an actual recovery; however, be sure to stop before recovering
your data. This test is to verify that your drive is responding properly.
To test your Disaster Recovery Set:
1. Follow steps 1 through 7 for recovering your data in the Data Recovery
section. See "Recovering Your Data" on page 10-4.
WARNING: Do not continue to step 8 when testing the DR Set. By pressing
Enter, as directed in step 8, you would be recovering the data from the diskette
which would overwrite the data on that drive. Press Esc to cancel, or remove the
diskette and restart your computer.
2. If you do not receive the messages listed in the steps for data recovery,
follow the directions for creating another Disaster Recovery Set. See
"Creating the Disaster Recovery Set" on page 10-2.
