Hardware RAID
n
Hard disk redundancy for disk units and SBs
•A RAID card is included by default in a DU to support RAID configurations.
•RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 1E, RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10 can be configured.
•Hot swap of internal HDDs is supported (excluding RAID 0 configurations).
•A RAID management tool "ServerView RAID Manager" is supported. (This tool is provided with the
server main unit by default).
Hard disk redundancy on an external file unit
•A RAID configuration can be created in the file unit on an external storage device (such as ETERNUS).
For details, refer to the manual for the file unit.
•RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 1E, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10, RAID 50, and RAID 60 can be configured.
•Hot swap of internal HDDs is supported (excluding RAID 0 configurations).
•A RAID management tool "ServerView RAID Manager" is supported. (This tool is provided with the
server main unit as standard).

SAN Boot

An OS is started from a boot disk that is set in an external storage.
