≥If you have a regular television (CRT: cathode ray tube) we recommend
using the Scart terminal. You can enjoy high-quality RGB video from this
unit by connecting to an RGB compatible television.
If you have an LCD/plasma television or LCD projector compatible with
progressive scan, connect through the component video terminals for high-
quality progressive video.
If you have a CRT television or a multi system television using PAL mode
that is compatible with progressive scan, we cannot recommend
progressive output as some flickering can occur.
≥All Panasonic televisions that have 625 (576)/50I · 50P, 525 (480)/60I · 60P
input terminals are compatible. Consult the manufacturer if you have
another brand of television.
≥You cannot play DVD-Video if their region number does not include "2" or
"ALL".
≥The DVD-Video region number indicates the disc conforms to a standard.
You cannot play discs that do not have a region number.
≥This unit records and plays DVD-R. However, you cannot record onto DVD-
R discs that are finalized.
≥This unit also records and plays the high speed recording compatible discs.
≥This unit does not record or play DVD-RW.
≥You can play CD-R and CD-RW on this unit that are created using a
compatible format.
≥You cannot write to a CD-R or CD-RW with this unit.
≥Most commercially sold video cassettes and DVD are copy protected;
therefore, recording is usually not possible.
≥You can play on DVD-R compatible players after finalizing the disc on this
unit; however, due to the condition of the recording, play may not be possible.
≥You can write to the disc approximately 100,000 times depending upon the
conditions of use.
≥You can record up to a 32k recording speed to DVD-R and up to 24k
recording speed to DVD-RAM when using a high speed compatible disc.
≥You cannot record digital signals. You can record analogue audio signals
with the AV2 Scart terminal connection.
≥With HDD and DVD-RAM, you can, and the audio recorded also changes.
Just press [SHIFT]i[AUDIO].
≥With DVD-R, you cannot. Change before recording with "Bilingual Audio
Selection" in the SETUP menu.
