Base station settings

Activating/deactivating

advisory tones

Your handset uses 'advisory tones' to tell
you about different activities and statuses.
The following advisory tones can be acti-
vated and deactivated independently of
each other:
u
Key beep: Each key press is acknowl-
edged.
u
Acknowledge tones:
– Confirmation beep (rising tone
sequence): at the end of an entry/
setting, when the handset is placed
in the base station and on arrival of
an SMS or a new entry in the
answering machine list or the calls
list.
– Error beep (descending tone
sequence): when you make an
incorrect entry.
– Menu end tone: when scrolling at
the end of a menu.

Battery low beep: the battery needs to
be charged.
The confirmation beep when the handset
is placed in the base cannot be deacti-
vated.

default settings
You can reset individual settings and
changes you have made. Entries in the
directory and in the calls list, the SMS lists,
the handset's registration to the base and
a stored picture or ringer melody will not
be affected. You will find a list of the
default settings in the Appendix, page 44.

Base station settings
The base station settings are made with a
registered Gigaset C35 handset.

Access control

Protect the system settings of the base sta-
tion with a system PIN known only to you.
The system PIN mustnow be entered for
handset registration/de-registration,
restoring default settings or barging in, for
example.
Changing the system PIN
You can change the base's 4-digit default
system PIN ("0000") to a 4-digit PIN known
only to yourself.
Note:
Thoroughly memorise the new system PIN! If
you forget it the phone will require expert
intervention. If this happens, contact the Sie-
mens Hotline (page 42).
When you set a system PIN you also make
it possible to remotely operate the
answering machine (page 29).
