POWER MANAGEMENT
Note on PC Cards
Never remove a PC card
while the system is in
save-to-disk mode. This
would deactivate the slot
and problems could arise
from a modified system
configuration the next
time you start up the
computer.
TENTION
Your system is compatible with the ACPI power
saving system.
The basic power management settings can be
found under the following in Windows operating
systems: <Settings> <Power Options>. If you
have questions, use the Windows Help func-
tion.
Here you can set the behavior separately for vari-
ous battery charge levels.
Standby: - low energy consumption -
The display is dimmed and the hard disk remains
unchanged. The power LED fl ashes. By pressing
the on/off button, the computer returns to the nor-
mal operating state. The user must log on again.
Sleep: - without power adapter no energy con-
sumption -
The current operating state is saved to the hard
disk; the computer is switched off. All open docu-
ments or applications become available again
when the computer is switched on.
Switching off the notebook and disconnect-
ing it from the power supply (pulling the plug
of the power adapter) can prevent any energy
consumption.
