2-2 Switching the handset
a) Switching the handset off
• The handset is on

• Press and hold key (9) until the screen goes out.
• You will no longer be able to dial a number or receive calls.
b) Switching the handset on
• The handset is off

• The handset switches on and establishes the link with the base
NOTE : When the instructions in this manual say that the handset is on standby, this means that
the handset is on but there are currently no calls. (no call tone).

2-3 Using the menu

A menu provides a more user-friendly access to a large number of functions on the tele-
phone. The menu has several sub-menus giving access to these functions.
1) To enter the menu, press key (7)
2) To scroll the menu functions, press keys
• The icon on the handset screen tells you that a function can by accessed by the
key (5) .
• The icon on the handset screen tells you that a function can by accessed by the key
(6)
3) To select a menu function, press key
4) To go back to the previous function, briefly press key
5) To exit the menu definitively, press and hold down the key

2-4 Choosing a language

There are 5 languages programmed into the menu: French, English, German
(DEUTSCH), Italian (ITALIANO) and Spanish (ESPANOL).
The default language programmed is FRENCH.
To change the language, follow these steps :
• The handset is on standby (no call tone).
• Press key

• "PHONE BOOK" is displayed on the LCD
• Press key (6) to select "HANDSET"
• Press key

• Press key (6) until "LANGUAGE" is displayed
• Press key (7)
• The current language is displayed on the LCD screen
• Use key (5) or (6) to select the language you want to use.
• Press key (7) to confirm the language selected.
• "LANGUAGE" is displayed on-screen.
