Whenshipped fromthefactory, t hisunitisdesigned t o

manifold pressure. A convertible p ressure r egulator ( see
figure2) isconnected t o the range manifold andMUST
beconnected i n series w ith thegassupply line. To
access the regulator, r emove t he drawer.
Forproper operation,the maximum inletpressure t o
theregulator s hould benomorethan14" ofwater
column pressure ( 3.5kPa).
Theinletpressure t o the regulator m ustbeat leastI "
(.25kPa) g reater t hantheregulator m anifold pressure
setting. T heregulator i ssetfor4" watercolumn (I.0
kPa) Natural g asmanifold pressure; the inletpressure
mustbeatleast5" watercolumn (1.25kPa) Natural
gas.ForLP/Propane gas,the regulator m ustbesetfor
10" watercolumn (2.5kPa) m anifold pressure; the inlet
pressure m ustbeat least11" watercolumn (2.75kPa).
Thesupply lineshould beequipped w ith anapproved
shutoffvalve(seeFigure 9).This valve shouldbelocated
in thesame roomasthe range andshould bein a
location thatallows ease ofopening andclosing. D onot
blockaccess to theshutoffvalve. T hevalve isforturning
onor shutting off gasto theappliance.Open
theshutoff
valve in thegassupply line.Waita few minutes for gas
to move throughthegasline.
Thegassupply between the shutoffvalve andthe
regulator m aybeconnected b yrigidpipingor byA.G.A./
C.G.A.-approved
flexiblemetallic unionconnected
pipingwherelocal c odes permituse.
Thegassupply pipingcanbethrough the sidewallof
the rightcabinet. T herightsidecabinet i san ideal
location forthemainshutoffvalve.
Donotmake the connection t oo tight.
Theregulator i sdiecast. O vertightening maycrack the
regulator r esulting in agasleakandpossible f ire or
explosion.
Assemble t heflexible conduit f romthegassupply pipe
tothe pressure r egulator i nthisorder:
1-manual shutoffvalve, 2 - flareunionadapter,
3- flexible conduit, 4 -flareunionadapter,
5- pressure r egulator.
Thegassupply lineto theshutoffvalve shouldbe
1/2"or 3/4" solidpipe.
Theusermustknowthe location of themainshutoff
valve andhave easyaccess t o it.
Whenusing flexible gasconduit o nthe range, a llow
sufficient s lack to pulltherange outside the cutoutfor
cleaning or servicing.
NOTE:Donotallowtheflexibleconduit t o getpinched
between the wallandthe range. T ovisually c heck,
remove the range drawer.
Usepipe-joint c ompound m ade for usewithNatural a nd
LP/Propane gasto seal a llgasconnections. If flexible
conduitis
used,
be certain that it is not kinked.
Leak testing
of the appliance
shah be conducted
according
to the manufacturer's
instructions.
Check for Jeaks. After connecting the range to the gas
supply, check the system for leaks with a manometer. If
a manometer is not available, turn on the gas supply and
use a liquid leak detector at all joints and connections to
check for leaks.
Do not use a flame to check for leaks
from gas connections. Checking for leaks with a flame
may result in a fire or explosion.
All openings in the wall or floor where the range is to be
installed must be sealed.
