Menu item Purpose
Allow Save as Allows for saving fax numbers as
Shortcut shortcuts in the MFP.
Dial Mode Specifies the dialing sound, either as a
tone or a pulse.
Note: This menu item may not be
available in all countries or regions.
Custom Job Allows for scanning of custom fax jobs.

This is also known as Job Build.
Custom Job is not supported on all
models.
Background Adjusts the amount of background
Removal visible on a copy.
Contrast Specifies the contrast used for the
scan job. The default is dependent on
the Content menu item. If the Content
menu item is reset from the default
setting, then the default for Contrast is
reset also.
Shadow detail Adjusts the amount of shadow detail
visible on a copy.
Scan edge to Specifies if the original document is
edge scanned edge-to-edge prior to sending
the fax job.

A Save as Shortcut button appears on
the screen.
A Save as Shortcut button does not
appear on the Fax Destination screen.
A tone sounds for each number dialed.
A pulsating noise sounds for each
number dialed.
To set to On, select the check box.
To set to Off, clear the check box.
-4 sets Background Removal to off.
+4 sets Background Removal to the
maximum allowed.
Text default is 5.
The default is 0 for items other than
text.
-4 preserves the least amount of
shadow detail.
+4 preserves the most shadow detail.
