Sliding Table
Parallelism
To adjust the sliding table parallel with the
main blade:
1.
Move the blade tilt to 0° (blade 90° to table),
and raise the main blade as high as it will
go.
2.
Loosen the sliding table mounting nuts (refer
to Figures 82–84).

3.
Make a mark near the edge of the blade with
a felt tip pen. This will allow you to take your
measurements from the exact same place on
the blade.

4.
Using an adjustable square or a dial indica-
tor, measure the distance (A) between the
miter slot and the front of the blade as shown
in Figure 85.
Note: Use a dial indicator for the most accu-
rate results.
5.
Rotate the blade 180° and slide the table
with the measuring device to position (B) in
Figure 85.

the blade.
6.
Measure the difference between the two
positions (use the feeler gauge if using the
adjustable square). Make note of the differ-
ence between the two measurements.
— If the difference is less than 0.004" then the
blade parallelism is correct.
— If the difference is greater than 0.004",
then the sliding table needs to be adjusted.
Continue with the next step.
7.
Push the end of the table that is closer to the
blade out half the distance noted in Step 6.
8.
Repeat Steps 4-7 until the gap between the
blade and the sliding table is equal.
9.
Tighten the table mounting nuts to secure the
sliding table and replace the access plates.
