This appliance requires fi eld-installation of heat shield(s) on the
fi rebox glass frame. These shields function to manage convective
heat transfer during blower operation. These shields are critical
to the performance and reliability of the appliance because they
prevent overheating of gas control components.
For installation fi nished with the Martini decorative front, a single
lower glass heat shield is installed in the bottom of the glass
frame. This shield will be installed prior to installing the decorative
surround and glass. See Figure 13.18. It is also critical that the
required air space is maintained between the underside of the
Martini surround and the adjacent fi nishing materials. See Figure
13.19.
For installations fi nished with the Tonic decorative front, both an
upper and lower glass heat shields are installed in the top and
bottom of the fi rebox glass frame. These will be installed prior to
installing the framed mesh and the Tonic surround. See Figures
13.18 and 13.19.
WARNING! Risk of Valve / Control Damage! This appliance
requires fi eld-installation of heat shields onto the fi rebox glass
frame. Do not operate this appliance without the specifi ed heat
sheild(s).
