The Answering Machine

About the Answering Machine

The answering machine has to be turned on in order to receive messages.
On incoming calls the telephone will be answered after the selected number of
rings (please refer to page 7).
When the answering machine answers the caller will hear your outgoing
message (OGM) followed by a short beep, at which point they can leave a
message (ICM) up to 60 seconds in length. Should the caller exceed this limit
the call will be disconnected.
The units memory will store approximately 11 minutes of incoming messages
(including the outgoing message).

Outgoing Message (OGM)

The OGM is your announcement to a caller and may be up to 30 seconds in
length. If you choose not to record your own OGM, the caller will hear a pre-
recorded OGM. Use your OGM to advise the caller that he or she may start
talking after a beep is heard.
For example:
"Hello, we are unable to take your call right now, please leave a message after of
the beep, and we'll return your call as soon as possible. Thank you for calling."
Recording an OGM
1. Press and hold REC. You will hear a short beep and the
flash.
2. Record your OGM. Speak clearly towards the machine from a distance of
approximately 15-20 cm.
3. Release REC. to finish recording.
4. Your OGM will playback after a few seconds. Repeat the procedure above if
you want to change the OGM. Any old OGM will automatically be erased
as the new one is recorded.
Checking your OGM
Press and release REC. Your OGM will now be replayed.
Please note!
If you experience a power failure, and have not installed a backup battery, there is a risk
that your OGM will be erased.
The answering machine will then reset to the pre-recorded OGM.
