DNC

DNC
Dynamic Noise Covering
DNC allows for raising a volume when driv-
ing that is considered pleasant for a non-
driving vehicle.
The increase differs according to frequency
ranges, dependent upon the noise develop-
ment of the vehicle.
Hence, volume and sound remain at a
pleasant level even with changing noise
developments. Short-term noises, such as
those while crossing railways, are not con-
sidered.

Calibrating DNC

A calibration via the measurement micro-
phone is required for vehicle-specifi c op-
eration. The DNC calibration should be per-
formed after the DSA calibration. Before
the calibration, you should permanently
attach the calibration microphone with the
supplied Velcro tape near the console, but
not in the fl oor area, at droning points or at
the heating/ventilation.
The opening of the calibration microphone
must point to the direction of the passen-
ger compartment. The calibration should
be performed at a quiet location with the
engine switched off. The doors, windows
and sunroof must remain closed, and you
should be seated in the driver's seat.
