Assemble, Install, Operate and Maintain Your Ceiling Fan

Tools Needed for Assembly

One Phillips head screwdriver
One stepladder
One wire stripper
Three wire connectors (supplied).
MATERIALS
Wiring, electrical box and box connectors must be of
type required by the local code. The minimum wiring
would be a 3-conductor (2-wire with ground) of follow-
ing sizes:
For your convenience, check-off boxes are provided next to each assembly step. As each step is complet-
ed, place a check mark in the box. This will insure that all steps have been completed and will be helpful
in finding your place should you be interrupted.

sories not designated for use with this product by

1. Pass the 80" motor leads through the opening in
the ceiling cover. Be sure the cover is oriented cor-
rectly.
2. Separate, untwist and unkink the three motor leads.
Route the motor leads through the hanger
ball/downrod assembly.
3. Loosen the setscrew in the motor coupling. Verify that
the three rubber washers are installed and are flush
against the shoulder on the downrod. Screw the
downrod into the motor coupling as far as possible,
aligning the hole in the downrod with the hole in the
PORCHES, PATIOS, AND DECKS.

How to Put Your Ceiling Fan Together
Installed Wire Length
Up to 50 ft.
50 - 100 ft.

Before assembly your ceiling fan, refer to section on
proper method of wiring your fan (page 5). If you feel
you do not have enough wiring knowledge or experi-
ence, have your fan installed by a licensed electrician.
Check to see that you have received the following
parts:
a.Fan motor assembly
b.Five fan blades
c. One ceiling cover
d.Five blade flanges
e.One hanger ball/downrod assembly
f. One hanger bracket.
g.One loose parts bag containing:
1. Sixteen 3/16-24 x 5/16" screws
2. Eleven 1/4-20 x 7/16" blade flange screws
3. One wood ball
4. Three wire connectors
5. One 3/16-24 x 1-1/2" round head
stainless steel screw
6. One acorn nut
7. Two rubber washers
8. Two threaded studs
9. Two lockwashers
10. Two knurled knobs
11. One chain coupling
NOTE: Place the parts from the loose parts bag in
a small container to keep them from being lost.
motor coupling (Figure 1). Pass the screw with a rub-
ber washer under the head through the motor cou-
pling and downrod. Position a rubber washer on the
screw and securely install the acorn nut. Securely
tighten the setscrew in the motor coupling.

It is critical that the clevis pin in the motor coupling
is properly installed and the setscrews securely
tightened. Failure to verify that the pin and setscrews
are properly installed could result in the fan falling.
