PERIODIC MAINTENANCE AND MINOR REPAIR

Air filter

The air filter element should be cleaned
at the specified intervals. It should be
cleaned more frequently if you are
riding in unusually wet or dusty areas.
1. Remove the seat. (See page 3-12
for seat removal and installation
procedures.)
2. Remove the fuel tank. (Refer to
steps 2–6 of the "To change the
coolant" section on page 6-13 for
the fuel tank removal procedure.)

Make sure that the fuel tank is
well supported.

Do not tilt or pull the fuel tank
too much, otherwise the fuel
hoses may come loose, which
could cause fuel leakage.

3. Remove panels A, B and C. (See
pages 6-5 and 6-6 for panel re-
moval
and
installation
dures.)

1. Rubber cover
2. Cover holder
4. Remove the rubber cover from its
holders by pushing it downward.
Then pull it upward and back as
EW000071
shown, away from the air filter
case.
