5-2. MECHANISM SECTION
ADJUSTMENTS

Mechanism Section Adjustments

For details of mechanism section adjustments, checks, and
replacement of mechanism parts, refer to the separate volume
"DV MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENT MANUAL 3
D200 Mechanism ".

OPERATING WITHOUT CASSETTE

1)
Refer to "2. Removal" and supply the power with the cabinet
(L) assembly removed.
2)
Connect the adjustment remote commander to the 26-pin
MULTI connector via the I/O board-1 jig (J-6082-372-C).
3)
Turn on the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote
commander.
4)
Set page: 0, address: 01, data: 01.
5)
Set page: C, address: 52, data: FD and press the PAUSE button
of the adjustment remote commander.
6)
Set page: D, address: 10, data: 08 and press the PAUSE button
of the adjustment remote commander.
The above procedure enables the mechanism to operate without the
cassette. After checking operations, be sure to perform "Procedure
After Checking Operations".
To use the "No-Cassette Operations Mode" and "Forced Power ON
Mode" together, set the following data to page: D, address: 10.
Forced VTR Power ON Mode .............................................. 0A
[Procedure after checking operations]
1)
Set page: 0, address: 01, data: 01.
2)
Set page: C, address: 52, data: FF and press the PAUSE button
of the adjustment remote commander.
3)
Set page: D, address: 10, data: 00 and press the PAUSE button
of the adjustment remote commander.
4)
Set page: 0, address: 01, data: 00.
5)
Disconnect the power supply of the unit.

TAPE PATH ADJUSTMENT

1. Preparations for Adjustment

1)
Clean the tape running side (tape guide, capstan shaft, pinch
roller).
2)
Connect the adjustment remote commander to the 26-pin
MULTI connector via the I/O board-1 jig (J-6082-372-C).
3)
Turn on the HOLD switch of the adjustment remote
commander.
4)
Select page: 3, address: 3C, and set data: 07.
5)
Connect the oscilloscope.
Channel 1: VC-199 board, CN6202 Pin 2 (Note 1)
External trigger: VC-199 board, CN6202 Pin 5
Connect the oscilloscope via the CPC-6 terminal board jig
(J-6082-371-A) and CPC-6 jig (J-6082-370-A).
6)
Playback an alignment tape (XH2-1) for tracking.
7)
Check that the oscilloscope RF waveform is flat at the entrance
and exit.
If not flat, adjust according to the separate volume
"DV MECHANICAL ADJUSTMENT MANUAL 3
D200 Mechanism ".
8)
After completing the adjustment, perform "Procedure After
Checking Operations".
Note: Connect Pins 2 and 1 (GND) of CN6202 with a 75
resistor.

2. Procedure after operation

1)
Connect the adjustment remote commander, and turn on the
HOLD switch.
2)
Select page: 3, address: 3C, and set data: 00.
3)
Disconnect the power of the unit.
