Precaution

Handbrake interlock
Certain functions (such as viewing of DVD video
and certain touch key operation) offered by this
navigation system could be dangerous if used
while driving. To prevent them being used while
in motion, there is an interlock with your vehicle's
handbrake. If you attempt to use these functions
during driving, their onscreen touch keys may be
indicated in grey and inoperable. If so, stop in a
safe place, apply the handbrake, then operate.
Upgrade DVD Map Disc
Upgrade DVD Map Discs are available for pur-
chase from your local Pioneer dealer. These
include the most current map and point of inter-
est information. Contact your local Pioneer dealer
for details.
To ensure safe driving
❒ "Video image" in this manual indicates the
moving image from the equipments which are
connected to the navigation system with AV-
BUS or RCA cable, such as DVD player and TV
tuner.
When you attempt to watch video images, the
warning VIDEO VIEWING IS NOT AVAIL-
10
ABLE WHILE DRIVING will appear on the
screen.
To watch video images on this display, park your
vehicle in a safe place and apply the handbrake.
• To avoid the risk of damage and injury and
the potential violation of applicable laws,
the navigation system is not for use with a
video image that is visible to the driver.
• In some countries the viewing of images
on a display inside a vehicle even by per-
sons other than the driver may be illegal.
Where such regulations apply, they must
be obeyed.
When applying the handbrake in order to view
video source or to enable other functions offered
by the navigation system, park your vehicle in a
safe place, and keep the brake pedal pushed
down before releasing the handbrake if the vehi-
cle is parked on a hill or otherwise might move
when releasing the handbrake.

between day and night
Night display
The examples in this manual are illustrated using
the daytime display. When driving at night, the
colours you see may differ from those shown.
To use this function, the Orange/white lead of the
navigation system must be connected correctly.

ture an ACC position.
Rear view camera
With an optional rear view camera, you are able
to use the navigation system as an aid to keep an
eye on trailers, or backing into a tight parking
spot.
