If you use the A terminal, set the rotary switch to
mA/A. If you use the mA/ A terminal, set the rotary
switch to  for currents below 6000 A (6 mA), or
P for currents above 6000 A.

To measure dc current, push .

Open the test circuit path. Touch the black probe to
the more negative side of the break. Touch the red
probe to the more positive side of the break. If the
leads are reversed, the measurement will be
negative, but will not cause Product damage.

Apply power to the circuit and then read the display.
Be sure to note the unit given at the right side of the
display ( A, mA, or A).

Remove power from the circuit and discharge all
high-voltage capacitors. Remove the Product and
restore the circuit to normal operation.

Some guidelines for current measurements are:
If the current measurement is 0 A and you are sure
the Product is set up correctly, do a fuse test. See
the "Fuse Test" section.
A current meter drops a small voltage across itself,
which could change circuit operation. You can
calculate this burden voltage with the values shown
in the specifications.
