Backing Up
3–12 Backup Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server Option Guide
When backing up an Exchange database, choose one of the following
options:
Select the Microsoft Information Store, Site Replication Service, or Key
Management Service objects to back up all the storage groups' databases
of the selected application.
Select the storage groups.
Select some of the databases in the storage groups.
Note: We recommend backing up the entire storage group rather than
individual databases. Individual databases can be restored from a backup of
the entire storage group.
When backing up a mailbox or folder, perform the following procedure:
a. In the Backup Manager, select Microsoft Exchange Server Brick Level.
The Security dialog opens.
b. Enter the user name and password for your Backup Agent Service
Account and click OK. The tree expands to display two new objects:
Individual Mailboxes and Public Folders.
c. Expand either the Individual Mailboxes or Public Folders and select the
items to back up.
