Shift Cable
If the full rangeof speeds (forwardandreverse) c annotbeachieved, referto the
figureto the fight andadjusttheshift cableasfollows:
I.
Place the shift leverinthe fastestforwardspeed position(F6).
2.
Loosen the hex nut onthe shift cableindexbracket. S eeFigure 24.
3.
Pivotthe bracket d ownwardtotake upslackinthe cable.
4.
Retighten the hexnut.
Drive Control
Whenthe drivecontrol i s released a ndinthe disengaged " up" position, t he cable
shouldhaveverylittle slack.ItshouldNOT betight. Also,if thereisexcessive s lack
inthe drivecableor if the unit experiences intermittentdrivewhileusing,the cable
mayneedto beadjusted. C heck t he adjustment o f the drivecontrol a sfollows:
I.
With thedrivecontrol r eleased, p ushthe snowthrowergentlyforward.The
unit shouldroll freely.
2.
Engage the drivecontrolandgentlyattemptto pushthe snowthrower
forward.Thewheelsshouldnot turn. Theunit shouldnot roll freely.
3.
With thedrivecontrol r eleased, m ovethe shift leverback andforth between
the R2positionandthe F6positionseveral times.There shouldbeno
resistance inthe shift lever.
4.
If anyof the above testsfailed,the drivecableisinneedof adjustment.
Proceed a sfollows:
a.
Shut o ff the engineasinstructed inthe Operation section.
b.
Loosen the lowerhexbolt onthe drivecablebracket. S eeFigure 25.
c.
Position the bracketupwardto providemoreslack(ordownwardto
increase cabletension).
d.
Retighten the lowerhexbolt.
ChuteControlRod
Toachieve morechutecontrolrodengagement i nthe inputshaftunderthe handle
panel,the chutecontrolrodwill haveto beadjusted. R eferto Figure 26.
Toadjustthisrod,proceed asfollows:
I.
Remove t he cotterpin fromthe holeclosest t o the chutecontrol h eadon the
chutecontrol i nput.
2.
Pullout the chutecontrolroduntilthe holeinit linesupwith the otherhole
inthe chutecontrolinput.
3.
Reinsert t he cotterpinthroughthisholeandthe chutecontrolrod.
