TONER RECYCLING SYSTEM

The toner used in the bizhub 180 is recycled 100%. Any toner remaining on the
photoconductor is removed by the cleaning blade, carried through the recycle
duct and resent to the developing unit. This eliminates wasted toner!

REDUCED OZONE EMISSION

The bizhub 180 have been designed to alter the electrical charging method. This method
controls the discharged electricity more efficiently, thereby achieving a low zone emission.

USE OF RECYCLED MATERIALS

The move toward the standardization of using recycled resin material is becoming
a global objective. In some areas it has already become a standard. The bizhub 180
uses recycled plastic in its exterior components as well as in some of its interior
components. The two-tone color of the bizhub 180 allows Konica Minolta to use more
recycled plastic.

DISPLAYING MATERIAL NAMES

In a concerted effort to identify recycling of used equipment, the Minolta bizhub 180
clearly provides the material names for many of their parts. The Waste Toner Bottle
is an example of such a part.

NO USE OF HARMFUL MATERIALS

Another measure taken to ensure environmentally friendly products is to use
materials that are not harmful to the environment. One example is the use of organic
photoconductors instead of toxic substances such as cadmium or selenium. Another
example is the use of plastic resin parts that eliminate or minimize dioxins and hydrogen
chloride which can be harmful to people and the environment. Konica Minolta strictly
restricts the use of any parts or materials containing substances that may emit
dioxins or hydrogen chloride.
