The Stitch and Its Uses
The multiple zigzag ts a combination zigzag
and straight stitch. You may use the
muittp_e zigzag everywhere you would use
the baslc zigzag stitch. Lt has more strength,
e_asticity, and is flatter than a regular zigzag.

for:

Here's How to Repair a Tear:
Straight _ position the tear under the needle so that the stitching will catch
both sides.
Cornered -- stitch trom each end to the center. Use a piece of fabric under
the tear to reinforce your mending,
