Change your mobile hotspot name
You can name your mobile hotspot so that other Wi-Fi enabled device users can see the name when they try to connect to
your mobile hotspot. When you turn on Mobile Hotspot mode, the name of your mobile hotspot appears in the connections
area at the top of the home screen.
1.
On the Home screen, click the connections area at the top of the screen or click the Manage Connections icon.
2.
Click Networks and Connections > Mobile Hotspot Connections > Options.
3.
In the Network Name (SSID) field, type a name for your Mobile Hotspot.
Change the amount of time before Mobile Hotspot mode turns off
By default, if your BlackBerry smartphone isn't connected to a power outlet and your smartphone and the other devices
that are connected to your mobile hotspot are inactive for 15 minutes, Mobile Hotspot mode turns off automatically to
conserve battery power.

On the Home screen, click the connections area at the top of the screen or click the Manage Connections icon.
2.
Click Networks and Connections > Mobile Hotspot Connections > Options.
3.
Change the Auto Shutoff Timer field.
Prevent additional devices from connecting to your Mobile Hotspot
1.
On the Home screen, click the connections area at the top of the screen or click the Manage Connections icon.
2.
Click Networks and Connections > Mobile Hotspot Connections.
3.
Select the Don't allow any more devices to connect check box.
View information about a connected device
You can view a connected device's name, MAC address, IP address and band.
1.
On the Home screen, click the connections area at the top of the screen or click the Manage Connections icon.
2.
Click Networks and Connections > Mobile Hotspot Connections.
3.
In the Wi-Fi Devices Connected section, highlight a device.
4.
Press the
key > Details.
About using Bluetooth technology in Mobile Hotspot mode
When you turn on Mobile Hotspot mode, your BlackBerry smartphone can use Bluetooth technology to connect to wireless
devices or BlackBerry PlayBook tablets using BlackBerry Bridge. When Mobile Hotspot mode is turned on, you can only
connect to Bluetooth devices with Handsfree, Headset, Serial Port and Dial-Up Networking Bluetooth profiles.
