Central heating/cooling
Central heating
■ Central heating is only activated if the
outside temperature falls below the
heating limit. The heating limit can be
set by your local heating contractor.
Cooling via a heating/cooling circuit
■ Cooling via the heating circuit, e.g. an
underfloor heating system (see
page 57) only occurs when the out-
side temperature has exceeded the
cooling limit. The cooling limit can be
set by your local heating contractor.
Cooling via a separate cooling circuit
■ Cooling with a separate cooling circuit,
e.g. chilled ceiling or fan convector
(see page 57) occurs independently
of the outside temperature. The cool-
ing capacity is automatically regulated
so that the selected set room temper-
ature is achieved (room temperature-
dependent cooling operation, see
page 58).
This enables a separate cooling circuit
to provide cooling all year round, e.g.
for a storage room.
Note
No time program can be set for the
separate cooling circuit.

Cooling functions
Subject to the accessories installed, the
heat pump supports the natural cooling
and active cooling functions.
■ In natural cooling mode, the lower tem-
peratures underground are transfer-
red directly to the heating circuit or the
separate cooling circuit. This function
is very efficient as it only requires the
operation of the circulation pumps.
■ If the natural cooling capacity is insuf-
ficient and the required accessories
are installed, the control unit can auto-
matically switch to the active cooling
mode. The heat pump will start in addi-
tion to the circulation pumps resulting
in higher electricity costs. For this rea-
son, the active cooling function must
be enabled once separately (see
page 24).
