6. Installing Lotus Notes forms
The Lotus Notes fax form provides a means to submit fax jobs using the Lotus Notes mail
client. There are two ways to install the fax form: automatically and manually. The
database must first be signed by an administrator, to vouch for its integrity.
Note: The administrator installing the forms must have the proper authorizations to
install the new databases, access the Lotus Notes client Administrator, and modify
access-control lists. The administrator must also be authorized to modify configuration
documents on the server.

Signing the database

In Microsoft Windows Explorer, browse to the \Lotus\Domino\Data directory on the
server hard drive.

Create a sub-directory called Fax.
Copy the Fax_Memo_Install.nsf and FAXconfiguration.nsf database files from the

\NotesForms folder on the OmniTouch Fax Server installation CD-ROM to the Fax sub-
directory you created in Step 2.
Note: NSF stands for Notes Storage Facility. These files represent typical Lotus Notes
databases.

Start the Domino Administrator by clicking Start > Programs > Lotus Applications >
Lotus Domino Administrator.

Once logged in, click on the tab for the server (domain) on which the database that you
want to sign in is located.

Click on the Files tab.

In the panel at the left, double-click on the Fax folder.

In the panel at the center of the window, select both databases (Fax Memo Install and
Fax Configuration), right-click and select Sign.
Choose either of the following, as per your organization's policy:

Active User's ID to sign using your ID, or
•
Active Server's ID to sign using the ID of the server that stores the database or
template.

Click OK.

In the Create Cross Certificate dialog window that appears, click Yes.
Note: A dialog window may appear, showing the number of databases processed and
the number of errors that occurred (if any). See the Notes Log for details.
