Setting the file name

You can set the file name of an image when the image is saved in the computer. A
file name is allocated to the image according the rules set in the [File Naming Rule]
dialog box.

File Naming Rule

A file name is configured into three blocks: [Prefix], [Base], and [Suffix]. Optional
separator characters can be placed between the blocks. The data format is
confirmed and an extension is added automatically.
Any of the following five block types can be selected for each block. Depending on
the item, after an item is selected, additional characters may be entered or selected
from a box.

• If the configured file name already exists in the same folder, a serial number
(_01, _02 ...) is automatically added to the suffix of the new file name.

Enter or select an optional string. This is entered directly into
the box displayed at the bottom or selected from past input
strings. A maximum of five input strings can be displayed in
and selected from the pull-down list.
Configures the shooting date. Select one of the following six
shooting date formats from the box displayed at the bottom.
• [YYYYMMDD]
• [YYMMDD]
• [MMDDYYYY]
• [MMDDYY]
• [DDMMYYYY]
• [DDMMYY]
Configures the shooting date and time. Select one of the
following six shooting date/time formats from the box displayed
at the bottom.
• [YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS]
• [YYMMDD_HHMMSS]
• [MMDDYYYY_HHMMSS]
• [MMDDYY_HHMMSS]
• [DDMMYYYY_HHMMSS]
• [DDMMYY_HHMMSS]
Configures a serial number up to 9999. Select the number of
digits (maximum of four) from the box displayed at the bottom.
If the selected number of digits is not sufficient for a file,
another digit is automatically added to the file name.
