In the System Setup document:

In Chapter 2, "Setting Up the Software," the location of the online System Introduction
document may be incorrect. The correct location is

In Chapter 4, "Operating Notes," the locations of the system's serial number and model
number have changed. Both are on a label under the the top cover at the front of the
chassis. The serial number is also found on a bar-code label on the back panel.
In the System Reference document, references to Chassis Fan 1 and Chassis Fan 2 (and their
system board connectors) are reversed. Chassis Fan 1 is the bottom front fan; Chassis Fan 2 is
the top rear fan. The system board connector for Chassis Fan 1 is J54; the system board
connector for Chassis Fan 2 is J5.

Installing Mass Storage Drivers During Setup
The System Setup document delivered with the system contains instructions for reinstalling the
operating system if needed. The instructions for what to do during installation of the
operating system direct you to bypass automatic detection of mass storage devices during
Setup. This is incorrect; instead of bypassing automatic detection, you should do the
following:

When prompted during Setup, select automatic detection of mass storage devices.
u
After completing Setup, reinstall the driver for the SCSI controller (SYMSCSIDRV) from
backup diskette.

Installing the Adaptec SCSI Controller Driver
If you have to reinstall Windows NT 4.0 on a system with an optional Adaptec SCSI
controller, be sure to reinstall the driver for the SCSI controller (2940
diskette during Setup.
To install the 2940
