Still Image Overlap

The still image overlap function can be used to
create a dissolve effect between images during
playback. A still image recorded in Still
Recording mode fades out while the next
image fades in. The two scenes momentarily
overlap during the transition.
Preparation

Plan the scene transition, and record still
images with the still recording function
(see page 36).
Notes:
• The still image overlap function can also be
used to provide a transition from a still
image to a moving image.
• Record images for 6 seconds or longer. An
image recorded for less than 6 seconds
may not dissolve properly.

Rewind the tape to just before the
position you want to playback.
Using Still Image Overlap

In VCR mode, display the menu screen
(see page 25).

Toggle the CONTROL switch (Q) to
select "PB EFFECT", then press the
CONTROL switch (W) to select
"OVERLAP".

Press the EXIT button (MODE DISPLAY)
to turn off the menu screen, then press
the MODE DISPLAY button to turn off
the mode screen.

• The still image fades out as the following
image fades in, replacing it. The two
scenes momentarily overlap.
To cancel Still Image Overlap mode
Press the CONTROL switch to set the PB
EFFECT menu item to "OFF" in step 2 above.
Note:
• Still Image Overlap mode will be cancelled if
the Playback Zoom, Multiple Strobe Playback
or Picture Effect Playback is used thereafter.
