System connection recording
DR2100 is also able to make the external recording by combi-
nation of Marantz products such as SR2100 or DV2100 using
system connection.

Make sure the disc is absolutely free of scratches and
dust particles.

Connect the cables as the system connection(See page 6)
➔ Set the remote control selector to SYSTEM for both
DR2100 and SR2100

Press SOURCE (2, 55) repeatedly until
the display

When the recorder stopped, press REC TYPE (3, 54)
five times to enter the Manual Record standby mode.

Set the optimal recording level on the CD-Recorder.
q Play the source first to set the optimal recording level on
the CD-Recorder.
w Rotate the MULTI JOG (21) to adjust the recording level.
The maximum position of the level could be reaching the
dotted line on the picture once in the while.

To start recording, press 0 0 0 0 0 REC (4, 50) on the CD-Re-
corder and immediately start the source (from the Stop-
mode).
The track number and recording time left appear on the display.
• To record a 3-second silence at the start of a track,
press 2/; PLAY/PAUSE (6, 47) on the CD-Recorder
before starting the source.
• To check the elapsed recording time, press DISPLAY
(17, 42) on the CD-Recorder.

To stop recording, press 9 9 9 9 9 STOP (5, 48) on the CD-Re-
corder.
• If 9 STOP (5, 48) was pressed within 3 seconds after
0 REC (4, 50), no recording will take place.

• To interrupt recording, press 2/; PLAY/PAUSE (6,
48) on the CD-Recorder. Press 0 REC (4, 50) to
resume.
After recording the display will show

NOTE:

Connecting to SR2100 by system connection, you can
operate this recorder from the SR2100 remote control-
ler.

You can listen to the other sound from the other
source, for example, radio on the SR2100 or DVD on the
DV2100 during the internal recording on the DR2100.
Important:
-
If you want to play the recorded CDR disc on any regu-
lar CD player, it must first be finalized. (See FINALIZ-
ING/UNFINALIZING page 14.)

Sound might be distorted when the recording levels are
set more than 0 dB for digital and –12dB for analog re-
cording.
-
The foctory settings are 0 dB for digital and –12dB for
analog recording.
-
The rec level will remain for next time.
Please check the rec level before start recording.

Finalized CD-RW discs play only on CD-RW compatible
CD players.
