YOUR
Z-TRAK
TRACKBALL
REMOTE
The
Zenith
Trackball
remote
is already
programmed
ta work
with
most
Zenith
VCRs.
If your
VCR
is not
a Zenith,
or if your
Zenith
VCR
does
not respond
to
the trackball
remote,
you will need
to program
your
remote
as follows:
1.
Refer
to lhe VCR
Codes
by Brand
Name
Listing
ta-
ble on the next page.
Locate
the 3-digit
number
which
corresponds
to your brand
of VCR.
2.
Make
sure
the TV is On.
2;. While
pointing
the Zenith
Z-Trak
remote
towards
your TV, simultaneously
hold
the MUTE
and EN-
TER keys until
the TV displays
a "VCR
Setup"
menu
screen
(takes
about
3 seconds).
The VCR
key
will ligh!
upon entering
1:he Programming
Mode.
4.
Notice
that the current
VCR
brand
code
(initially
20t)
is displayed
on the screen.
Roll the trackball
up or down
(or use Chan
Up/Down)
to choose
the 3-
digit number
of your VCR.
5.
When
(he correct
3-digit
number
is displayed
on the
TV screen,
press
the POWER
key to see if your
VCR turns
On and Off properly.
If the VCR
does
not respond,
refer
to the VCR
Code
Brand
Listing
table
to select
a different
3-digit
number.
6.
If your VCR
turns
On and Off successfully,
press
the trackball
(or ENTER)
to save
the current
VCR
brand
code.
The VCR
Setup
screen
will disappear
from the TV. Also tile VCR
key will blink
3 times
upon
exiting
the Programming
Mode.
The remote
will be in the VCR
mode.
7.
Now
try other
controls
on your
VCR,
such as PLAY,
REWIND,
etc.,
to make
_ure that the correct
VCR
brand
code
number
was selected.
(If not, repeat
steps
1 to 7.)
8.
The MUTE
key can he pressed
at any time
to cancel
programming
mode.
9.
Note:
Only
the VCR
Mode can he programmed.
Pressing
the VCR
or TV mode
key will have
no ef-
fect in the Programming
Mode.
Similarly
VOL
Up/Down
RECRD,
and FLSHBK
will have
no func-
tion in the Programming
Mode.
10. The remote
will exit Programming
Mode
automat-
ically
after 60 seconds
if no key or trackball
move-
ment
is detected.

i[f you have tried all 3-digit codes listed for your VCR manufacturer,
and none of them operate
your VCR, you will need to try
"AutoFind"
to see if a different
code will operate your VCR. Proceed as follows:
1.
Make
sure your
VCR
and TV are turned
on.
2.
Simultaneously
hold
the MUTE
and ENTER
keys
until the VCR
key lights
up (about
three
seconds).
13. Point
the: Z-Trak
trackball
remote
towards
your
VCR.
Press
CHAN
(Up)
followed
by POWER.
If
your VCR
did not turn off, keep
repeatedly
pressing
CHAN
(Up) followed
by POWER
until
the VCR
re-
sponds,.
4.
If your
VCR
turned
off, press
ENTER
to save the
code.
(Write
it down
for future
reference.)
The VCR
key will flash
three
times
after ENTER
is pressed.
5.
Now
try other
controls
on your VCR,
such as Play,
Rewind,
etc.,
to make
sure that the correct
VCR
brand
cede number
was selected.
(If not, repeat
steps
2 to 4,)
6.
The MUTE
key can be pressed
at any time
to cancel
AutoFind
mode.
The original
VCR
brand
code will
remain
unchanged.
7.
The remote
will exit AutoFind
mode
automatically
after 60 seconds,
if no key press
or trackball
move-
ment
is ,detected,
