UNIVERSAL REMOTE SETUP MI-NU
USING CLOCK SET
Set The Clock
1. Press MENU repeatedly on your remote until the
Setup Menu is displayed.
2. Use Up/Down arrow key to highlight Clock Set.
3. Use Left/Right arrow key to access Clock Menu.
4. Use Left/Right arrow key to select Auto or Manual.
Auto, TV sets the clock; while the TV is turned off.
Manual user keys-in time, etc. Use the numbered
keys on the universal remote control to enter the
correct time or press the Left or Right arrow key to
advance the clock. Press TIMER to select AM or
PM.
7. Press QUIT to remove the menu.
Notes: If StarSight is active, the time is automatically set and up-
dated. You car_ specify a Time Zone and Daylight Savings time even
if c!ock is in Auto mode. *See StarSight Clock Set Note below.

TURNING CAPTIONS ON AND OFF
Turn Captions Feature On and Off
(If you select On, proceed to Choosing Captions/Text.)
1. In the Setup Menu, use the Up/Down keys to
highlight Captions.
2. Use the Left/Right arrow key to select: Off, On or
Captiorts When Muted.
3. Press QUIT to remove the menu.
Turn Captions Feature On and Off with TO DO Key
1. Press TV, press TO DO key on remote.
2. Press TO DO repeatedly to cycle through the
options: Off, On or Captions When Muted.
Note: If you select Captions When Muted, Closed Captions
will appear when the Audio is Muted.

CHOOSING CAPTIONS OR TEXT OPTIONS
Activating Captions/Text (From the Setup Menu)
1. Use the Up/Down arrow key to highlight
Caption/Text.
2. Use t_e Left/Right arrow key to cycle through the
choices: Caption 1, Caption 2, Caption 3, Caption
4, Text 1, Text 2, Text 3, or Text 4.
3. Press QUIT to remove the menu.
Note:
At present, very few "IV programs or video tapes offer text
captioning for any option other than CAPTION 1. Therefore,
CAPTION 1 is the only recommended choice, unless you know
that a specific program is providing captioning using one of the
other selections.
StarSight Clock Set Note:
*After StarSight is authorized for your "IV it can take up to 48
hours for all StarSight information to be provided, while the
TV is Off As a consequence of that process, the Clock time
(which is automatically set by StarSight) may be set incor-
rectly. If this becomes a problem, you can use the Clock Set
menu to set the TV's time manually.
