Fully loosen the locking thumb wheels on
both of the roller adjustment screws shown in
figure 50.

Back out the adjustment screws so that they
are not against the belt housing.
Note: The next step is matter of trial-and-
error until you attain proper belt tracking. The
adjustment screws control the tilt of the upper
roller to make it parallel with the lower roller,
which affects the belt tracking.

make small changes to the adjustment knobs
as you continue to rotate the sanding belt by
hand.
9.
When the sanding belt continues to track in
one position on the rollers, make sure both
adjustment screws are making contact with
the belt housing, then re-tighten the locking
thumb screws.
10. repeat Step 4 to make sure the platen is still
even with the crown of the upper roller.
11. replace the side cover and table to the belt
assembly before connecting the sander to
power.
12. When first connecting the sander to power
after this, turn it ON and watch the belt track-
ing closely.
— if the sanding belt begins to track to
one side or the other, immediately turn
the machine OFF and disconnect it from
power. then, repeat this procedure until
the belt tracks properly.
