The DVD/VCRmakes noise when it is stopped
This [s normal. The DVD/VC'R removes the tape from the playheads when stopping. The cylinders
inside the unit will continue
to rotate for a few minutes after stopping.
The DVD/VCRwon't find active channels correctly using the Auto Channel Search feature
o
Make sure all cable connections
are secure and correct.
o
Make sure that TUNING BAND: is set correctly
in the TUNING menu.
o
Auto Chanrle[ Search may not be necessary if using a cable box to view all channels. Contact youl
local cable company for more information.
Recording
Problems

not record
o
Make sure there [s a reeordable tape in the DVD/VCR.
o
Eject then reinsert the tape.
o
Make sure the tape is not broken.
o
Make sure the DVD/VCR player is not in pause mode. Press PAUSE or PLAY to retuln to normal
playback.
o
Make sure the tape's safety tab is intact.
Timer
recording
was not made
or the wrong
program
was recorded
o
Make sure the program was entered correctly (the wrong channel or times may be entered).
o
Make sure the cable box or satellite receiver was turned on when recording was to begin.
o
There may have been a power intelruption.
Reset the time and date.
o
Check to see if time and date ale correct-
including
AM/PM.
o
Make sure the plogram did not exceed the tape's length and the tape was rewound beforehand.
o
Make sure the DVD/VCR was tulned off at the time recording stalted.
o
Make sure there was a tape in the DVD/VCR with its safety tab intact.
o
The DVD/VCR ejects tapes when the end is reached during a timer recording.
Playback

Press the lemote control's TV/VCR button
to activate VCR mode. VCR appears in the front panel
display when active.
o
Cheek the TV channel selected (3 ol 4) to make sure it matches the VCR charme[ output
setting.
o
Cheek to make sure the TV's fine tuning is correct 1:ol the channel selected.
o
If you use A/V cables arid jacks to eormeet the DVD/VCR to the TV, check all eormeetions for snug
and correct connections.
o
If you are using A/Veables, make sure the TVis set to the Video Input Channel. Go to page 60 for
instructions.
