Captions on OigitaU ChanneUs
The TV can decode captions from the ANT input onBy.
Broadcasters can send up to six different captioning
seBections or can send anaBog captions for a program
that originated in anabg format. A TV station may broad-
cast onByone or two types of captions or none at all.
Captions on AnaUog OhanneUs
The TV can decode captions from the ANT input and
the composite VmDEO jacks. Broadcasters can send
either standard closed captions or text service. Standard
closed captions follow the dialogue of the program and
display in a small section of the screen. Text-service closed
captions often contain information such as weather or
news and cover a large portion of the screen.

On if Mute: Displays digital closed-caption signal Caption 1 (digital) or CC1
(analog) when audio from the TV speakers is muted. While watching TV,

As Broadcast changes settings to those selected by the captions provider,
or, if none, to the TV's own caption defaults. Use one of the font styles to
give digital captions a custom appearance.
Large is recommended.

Recommendations for digital captions:
® A white font on a bmack transmucent back-
ground makes an easy-to-read combination.
Use contrasting colors for captions and back-
ground.
