Preparation
Press [DVD/CD].
While stopped and no on-screen display is shown
Press [SHIFT]+[TEST]
to output a test
signal.
L: Front left
C: Center
R: Front right
RS: Right surround
LS: Left surround
eThere is no output from SW (subwoofer) channel.
Press [VOLUME,
+] or [--] to set the
volume
level normally
used for listening.
Press [&] (increase)
or [V] (decrease)
to
adjust
the speaker
level for each speaker.
C, RS, LS:

(L, R: Only the balance is adjustable.)
eTo adjust the balance of the front speakers
While outputting the test signal, press [<, I_].
eAdjust the speaker level to the same level as the front
speakers.
To stop the test signal
Press [SHIFT]+[TEST]
again.
• To adjust speaker level during play
(Effective when playing multi-channel
audio or when Dolby Pro
Logic I1 or Super Surround is on.)

to select
the speaker.

eYou can adjust SW only if the disc includes a subwoofer
channel.
• "SW" does not appear on the display and is not adjustable
when Dolby Pro Logic 11is turned on.
e"S" appears on the display when "MUSIC" or "MOVIE" is
selected with Super Surround (-_ page 26). In this case, you
can adjust both surround speaker levels at the same time
using [A, T].
S:

Repeat the procedure from the beginning.
Press [MUTING].
"MUTING" flashes on the unit's display.
To cancel
ePress [MUTING] again or reduce the volume to minimum (- -dB),
then raise it to the required level.
• Muting is canceled when you switch the unit to standby.
