Usinga 3/4" wrench,hold the hex shaftand removethe hex
screwand bellevillewasherand bearingfrom left sideof the
frame.Referto Figure32.

Holdingthe frictionwheelassembly,slidethe hex shaftoutof
thefrictionwheelassemblyand the rightsideof the frame.The
spaceron the left sideof the hex shaftwill falland the sprocket
shouldremainhanginglosein the chain.
6.
Lift the frictionwheelassemblyout betweenthe axle shaftand
thedrive shaftassemblies.
7.
Removefour screwssecuringthe frictionwheelto the hub
assembly(referto Figure33). Discardold frictionwheel.
8.
Reassemble the newfrictionwheelontothe hub assembly,
tighteningthe fourscrewsin rotationand with equalforce.It is
importantto assemblethefrictionwheelsymmetrically for proper
functioning.
9.
Repositionthe frictionwheelassemblyin the snowthrowerframe.
Insertthe pin from the shiftarm assemblyintothe frictionwheel
assemblyand hold assemblyin position.Referto Figure34.
10. Slidethe hexshaftthroughthe rightsideof the frametowardthe
left side and throughthe frictionwheelassembly.
11. After makingcertain that the chainis on boththe largeand the
small sprocket,align the hexshaftwith thehex hub of the small
sprocket,and slidethe shaftthroughthe sprocket.
NOTE:If thesprocketfellfrom the snowthrowerwhile removing the
hexshaft, placethe sprocketon thechain. Realignthe sprocketon the
chainwith the hexhub facingthe rightsideof unit. Positionthe hex
hub of the sprockettowardthe frictionwheelwhen slidingthe sprocket
on to the hex shaft.
