Whentheauger controlis releasedand in the disengaged"up"posi-
tion, the cableshouldhavevery little slack, but shouldNOTbe tight.
Referto Fig.9 for locationof controls.
Priorto operatingyoursnow thrower,carefullyread and followall
instructions below.Performall adjustmentstoverify yoursnow
throwerisoperatingsafelyand properly.
1.
In a well-ventilated area,start the snowthrowerengineas
instructedin the Operationsection.
2.
Whilestandingin the operator'sposition(behindthe snow
thrower),engagethe augercontrol and allowtheauger to remain
engagedfor approximately ten secondsbeforereleasingthe
augercontrol.Repeatthis severaltimes.
3.
With theengine runningand the augercontrol in the disengaged
"up"position,walk to the frontof the machine.Confirmthat the
augerhas completelystoppedrotatingand showsno signs of
motion.
4.
If theauger showsany signsof rotating,immediately returnto the
operator'spositionand shutoff the engine.Wait for all moving
parts to stop beforereadjusting theauger controlcable.

1.
Movethe shift leverintosixth (6) position.
2.
With thewheeldrivecontrol released,pushthe snowthrower
forward,then pull it back.The machineshouldmovefreely.
3.
Engagethe drivecontroland attemptto movethe machineboth
forwardand back,resistanceshouldbe felt.
4.
Movethe shift leverintothe fast reverse(R2) positionand repeat
the previoustwo steps.
If youexperiencedresistancerollingthe unit,either whenrepositioning
the shift leverfrom 6 to R2 or whenattemptingto movethe machine
with the drivecontrolreleased,adjustthe drivecontrol immediately.

1.
Frombeneaththe handle,pull downwardon theappropriatecable
and unhookthe springfoundon the end of the cablefrom its
respectiveactuatorbracket.Referto Fig. 9 and 10.
2.
Slide thespringup thecableto exposethe cablecouplerthreads
and lock nut. Referto Fig. 11.
3.
If adjustingthe drivecable,threadthe lock nutoutward(downthe
couplertowardsthe end fo the thread)to lengthenthecable and
allowthe unitto movefreely whenthe controlis released. T hread
the lock nut inward (up the couplertowardsthe cable)to shorten
the cableto reduceslippageand preventthe machinefrom being
easilymovedwith the drivecontrolengaged.

Do notover-tightenthecable. Over-tightening may preventthe auger
from disengagingand compromise the safetyof the snowthrower.
4.
If adjustingtheauger cable,threadthe lock nutdownthe coupler
towardsthe end of the threadto lengthenthecable as necessary
to stopthe augerfrom turningwhen thecontrol is released.
5.
Reattachthe springto the rearmosthole in theactuatorbracket.
6.
Repeatthe wheeldriveand augercontroltests to verifyproper
adjustment.Repeatpreviousstepsifnecessaryto attain proper
adjustmentof eachcable.
