Automatic Playback
When you put a tape in theVCR, the power will come on auto-
matically.If the tape's record tab is missing,playbackwill begin.
If a timer recording is set, the power will not come on automati-
cally when you insert a tape with the record tab intact.
If a timer recording is set and theVCR power is off, theVCR will
eject the tape if the record tab is missing.
Automatic Rewind, Eject, Off
When a tape is played,fast forwarded, or recorded to its end, the
VCR will rewind the tape, go into the Stop mode, eject the tape,
then turn itself off.
If the real time counter memory is set, the VCR will only rewind
to the point at which the counter is set to zero, then stop.The
VCR will not eject the tape automatically or shut itself off.
If the end of the tape is reached during an OTR or timer record-
ing,recording will stop.Then, theVCR will eject the tape and turn
itself off.TheVCR will not rewind the tape.
Tape Eject
A tape can be ejected with theVCR power on or off (but theVCR
must be plugged in). If a Timer Recording is programmed, a tape
can only be ejected with the power on. Make sure you insert a
tape and turn off the power for the Timer Recording.
Automatic Tracking Adjustment
TheVCR continually adjusts tracking automatically to give you the
best possible picture quality.With some recordings, however, you
may get a better picture using the manual tracking controls (see
below).
Manual Tracking
To adjust the tracking manually,press the CHANNEL (Up/Down)
buttons on theVCR during tape playback.
NOTES:
• Thisfunctionis controlledonlybythe buttons on the VCR.The
CHANNEL (UplDown) buttons on the remote control will not adjust
tracking.
• Toreturn tracking to the position it was in when the VCRwasshipped
from the factory,press the CHANNEL (Up) and CHANNEL (Down)
buttonson the VCR at the same time.
• Trackingis returnedto auto tracking when a tape is inserted,or when
the STOP button is pressedto halt playback.
• When the VCRis in Slowmode,auto tracking will not work.Instead,
usethe CHANNEL (Up/Down)buttons on the VCR to reducenoise
linesin slow motion playback.
• Manual tracking will not operate whentheVCR is in Still mode.If you
want to reducenoiselines in a still picture,place theVCRin Slow
mode.Use the CHANNEL (Up/Down) buttonson the VCR to
removethe noiselines.Thenreturn to Still mode.
