Philips Consumer Electronics Company recommends that you use only video cassette tapes that have been tested and inspected for use in two, four, six, and eight hour VCRs, and which are labeled with the mark.

Before using the VCR, lift a corner of the plastic, then peel it off. Putting Batteries in the Remote Control Remove the battery compartment lid on the bottom of the remote control by sliding it in the direction of the arrow.

You must select channels at the Cable Box/DBS. Channels cannot be changed at the VCR. You may not view a channel other than the one you are recording.

Daylight-Saving Time is set to ON when you receive your VCR. Turn Daylight-Saving Time ON or OFF by following the steps below.

NOTE: If you enter a number for a slot that has already been used to store a timer recording, PREVIOUSLY SET PROGRAM will appear on- screen briefly.

It will only take a few minutes, and you must do it if you want the VCR Plus+ programming system to work properly. Since the channel numbers of the stations you receive may not be the same as the station numbers, and since channel numbers differ from area to area, you must program the VCR with your local channel infor- mation.
