USING THE GENIUS REMOTE TO CONTROL CABLE
BOX FUNCTIONS
Operating the pre-coded function for your cable box
This Genius Remote is designedto operatedifferenttypesof cable boxes.You mustfirstprogramthe Genius Remote
to matchthe remote system in yourcable box. (Refer to Table 2 on page 36 or Table 4 on page 37.)
1.
Set the MULTI-PAGE select switchto "CAW."
2.
Set the USE/LEARN mode selectswitchto "USE."(For CLU-850GR only)
3.
Turn ON yourcable box.
4.
Aim the Genius Remote controlat the frontof your cable box.

While holdingdownthe SELECT button,press thebuttonthat matchesourcable box as shownon page 36 or page
37. Continueto holddownboth buttons.The channelsofthe cablebox willbeginchanging when the correctbutton
is pressed. When this occurs, the Genius Remote Control is programmedfor yourcable box. If the cable box
channels do not change after 5 seconds,try a differentGeniusRemote button.

Release both buttonswhenthecable boxstartstochangechannels.The GeniusRemotewillnowcontrol yourcable
NOTES:
1. If your cable box cannot be operated after per-
formingthe above procedures,this means that
yourcable box codes have not been precoded
intothe GENIUS REMOTE. Please store your
cable box codes in memoryby usingthe USER
mode. (Refer to page 38.)

The GENIUS REMOTE CONTROL willremem-
ber the codesyou have programmedin untilthe
batteries are removed from the GENIUS RE-
MOTE CONTROL. Afterreplacingthe batteries,
repeatthe entireprogramming procedurestated
above.
