6. STORAGE

if the motor starts accidentally,
the cutting blade may
cause serious injury. Disconnect the extension cord from the mower to
prevent accidental starting.
PREPARATION FOR STORAGE

Clean all exterior surfaces of the mower, and wipe accumulated dirt and
debris from the underside of the mower deck.
CAUTION: Cleaning with a water hose is not recommended;
water
could enter the motor and cause corrosion.

Coat areas that may rust with a light film of oil.

Wash the grass bag and allow it to dry thoroughly.

Stored lawn clippings
are a fire hazard. Always
empty the grass bag after use. Dispose of lawn clippings safely.
l
Cover the lawn mower, and place it in a dry, dust-free, secure area, out of
the reach of children.
NOTE: Plastic sheets should not be used as covers; they will trap mois-
ture around the mower, promoting rust and corrosion.
l
Store the extension cord away from heat, oil, and sharp objects.
