Use the camera's built-in microphone to record
voice memos for pictures marked with l_:_r_ in full-
frame playback (PI_ 22).

Recording Voice Memos
A voice memo, up to 20 seconds in length,
will be recorded willie _) is pressed down.
Recording ends after about 20 seconds or
when ® is released.
* Do not touch the built-in microphone
during recording.
* During recording, _ and [J'] blink in the
monitor display.
Playing
Voice Memos
Press _) wt_ile a picture is displayed in full-
frame playback to play voice memo. Play-
back ends when the voice memo ends or
_) is pressed again.
• Pictures with voice memos can be recog-
nized by the _:[_] and [J'] icons.
• Use the zoom buttons to adjust playback
volume. Press W ([]) to lower volume,
or T (q) to raise volume.
Deleting Voice Memos
Select a picture with a voice
memo and press _. Use the
multi selector to choose [[J']]
and press 0. Only the voice
memo wilI be deleted.

Voice Memos
• Voice memo file names are the same as those of the images they attach to except that the
extension is "WAV', eg, "DSCNO015WAV (_, 108).
• If a voice memo already exists for the current picture, it must be deleted before a new voice
memo can be recorded
• The COOLPIX L12 may be not able to attach a voice memo to pictures recorded by other
cameras
