The Nikon COOLPIX L820 uses AA-size batteries. To open the battery compartment and replace the batteries:
1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera. 2. Slide the battery compartment cover latch to unlock it. 3. Open the cover to access the battery slots. 4. Remove the old batteries and insert new ones, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -). 5. Close the battery compartment cover and slide the latch to lock it securely.
