Onkyo components that are connected via R I are
controlled by pointing the remote controller at the AV
receiver, not the component. This allows you to control
components that are out of view, in a rack, for example.
1 Make sure the Onkyo component is connected with
an f"/I cable and an analog audio cable (RCA).
See "Connecting Onkyo 1-41Components" for details
(o page 17).
2 Enter tile appropriate remote control code for a
REMOTE MODE button, by referring to the
previous section.

3 Press the REMOTE MODE button, point the
remote controller at the AV receiver, and operate
the component.
Controlling Onkyo components without f_ I
If you want to control an Onkyo component by pointing the
remote controller directly at it, or you want to control an
Onkyo component that's not connected via f_ I, use the
/Y_llowing remote control codes:

You can reset a REMOTE MODE button to its default
remote control code.

While holding down the REMOTE MODE button
that you want to reset, press and hold down HOME
until the remote indicator lights (about 3 seconds).
Within 30 seconds, press the REMOTE MODE
button again.
The remote indicator flashes twice, indicating that the
button has been reset.
Each REMOTE MODE button is preprogrammed
with a remote control code. When a button is reset, its
preprogrammed code is restored.
You can reset the remote controller to its default settings.

While holding down RECEIVER, press and hold
down HOME until the remote indicator lights
(about 3 seconds).
2 Within 30 seconds, press RECEIVER again.
The remote indicator flashes twice, indicating that the
remote controller has been reset.
Controlling Other Components
By pressing the REMOTE MODE button that's been
programmed with the remote control code for your
component, yon can control your component as described
below.

Controlling a TV
TV is preprogrammed with the remote control code for
controlling a TV that supports the 1-411-11_q (limited to
some models), The TV must be able to receive remote
control commands via 1-'411-11_ and be connected to the
AV receiver via HDMI, If controlling your TV via
1-411-11_ doesn't work very well, program your TV's
remote control code into TV and use the TV remote mode
to control your TV,

Controlling Apple TV
By programming the supplied remote controller with the
appropriate remote control code, you can use it to operate
your Apple TV.
