Troubleshooting chart

AN-PR1500H
Many potential problems can be resolved by the owner without calling a service
technician.
If something is wrong with this product, check the following before calling your
authorised SHARP dealer or service centre.
General
Symptom
The power is not turned on.
No sound is heard.
The sounds from speakers are
not well balanced.
Noise is heard during playback.
When a button is pressed, the unit
does not respond.
Interference or noise occurs on
the TV image.
The display on the unit is dark.
No images are displayed.

Possible cause
Is the unit unplugged?
Is the volume level set to "0"?
Are the speaker wires disconnected?
Are the speaker wires connected to the
wrong channels?
Move the unit away from any computers or
mobile phones.
Set the unit to the power stand-by mode
and then turn it back on.
If the unit still malfunctions, disconnect the
unit from the mains for 30 seconds, then
reconnect.
Is the unit placed near TV with internal
aerial? Use an external aerial.
Is the display in the dimmer mode?
Is the TV turned on?
Is the TV input switched on?
DVD player
Symptom
Even though a disc is loaded, "No
Disc" is displayed.
Playback sounds are skipped.
The control buttons do not
function. Music or video playback
is interrupted.
Pictures and sound are skipped.
The unit does not operate even if
the power is on.
Images cannot be played back.
(Sound is not heard.)
Possible cause
Is the disc loaded upside down?
Is the disc very dirty?
Does the disc satisfy the standards?
Is the unit located near excessive
vibrations?
Is condensation formed inside the unit?

at the back of the unit), audio CD, CD-R or
CD-RW loaded?
Are the video and audio cables connected
improperly?

2 or ALL), audio CD, CD-R or CD-RW
loaded?
Is the disc very dirty?
Is the disc loaded upside down?
Is the optical pick up dirty?
Is the TV input set to video (VIDEO 1,
VIDEO 2, etc.)?
Is the unit turned on?
