Maintenance Messages

The printer's display lets you know when you need to perform
routine maintenance procedures. The toner cartridge and drum unit
must be replaced on a regular basis. The messages described below

several replacement toner cartridges. See Appendix B for storage
information.

Toner empty message

The initial toner cartridge, which is shipped with your printer, lasts
about 750 pages. Replacement toner cartridges last about 1,500
pages. These page amounts are based on letter or A4-size pages
normal text printing (5 percent print density). If you print higher
density graphics or use larger paper, the number of pages per
cartridge may decrease. The number of pages can also vary if you
print density control setting (described in Chapter 2).
