-The LOCK switch on the E ye-Fi card is set to prevent accidental erasure. Change the p osition
of t he L OCK switch.
-An
e rror occurred when trying to accesscontrol data on the Eye-Ficard. Turn the camcorder
off then on again. If the icon appears often, there might be a problemwith the Eye-Fi card.
Contactthe card manufacturer'scustomer care.
Pictureand Sound
The screen appears too dark.
- The LCD screen was dimmed. Hold [[_isR! pressed down for 2 secondsto restore the LCD
screen to its previousbrightness setting=
Screen displays turn on and off repeatedty.
- The battery pack is exhausted. Replaceor charge the battery pack.
- Remove the battery packand reattach it correctly.
Abnormal characters appear on the screen and the camcorder does not operate property.
- Disconnectthe power source and reconnect it after a short time. If the problem still persists,
disconnectthe power source and pressthe RESET button to reset all the camcorder'ssettings
to default values.
Video noise appears on screen.
- Keep a distance betweenthe camcorder and devices that emit strong electromagnetic fields
(plasma TVs, cellular phones,etc.).
Horizontalbands appear on the screen.
- This is a phenomenon typical of CMOSimage sensorswhen recording under some types of
fluorescent, mercuryor sodium lamps. Thisis not a malfunction. To reduce the symptoms,
change the _ @ [Flicker Reduction]setting.
Sound is distorted or is recorded at lower levels.
- When recordingnear loud sounds (suchas fireworks, shows or concerts), sound may become
distorted or it may not be recordedat the actual levels. Activate the microphone attenuator
([_[_ 137) or adjust the audio recording level manually (_ 75).
The picture is displayed correctly but there is no sound from the built-in speaker.
- Speaker volume is turned off. Adjust the volume.
- If the STV-25ON StereoVideo Cableis connected to the camcorder, disconnectit.
- The AV terminal is set to headphoneoutput=Set _ O [AV/Headphones] t o [AV].
