A noise can be heard from the compact power adapter.

Pressing [S:I:AR:I/sTOP I
will not start recording.
- Youcannot record while the camcorder is writing previousrecordings onto the memory(while
the ACCESS indicator is on or flashing). Wait until the camcorder has finished.
- The memory is full or it alreadycontains the maximum number of scenes (3,999 scenes).
Delete some recordings (1_[]]56, 105) or initialize the memory(_ 41)to free some space.
The point where _STA]_T/S:rOPI was pressed does not match the beginning/end of the
recording.
- There is a slight interval between pressing I_ST,4RT/S:r_SF'i and the actual start!end of record-
ing. This is not a malfunction.
The camcorder will not focus.
- Autofocusdoes not work on the subject. Focus manually(1_ 71).
- The lens is dirty. Cleanthe lens with a soft lens-cleaning cloth (1_[] 170). Never usetissue
paper to clean the lens.
When a subject flits across in front of the lens,the image appears slightly bent.
- This is a phenomenontypical of CMOSimage sensors. Whena subject crosses very quickly in
front of the camcorder, the image may seem slightly warped. This is not a malfunction.
Changing the operatingmode between recording (O)/record pause (OIl|)/playback (1_-)
takes longer than usual.
- Whenthe memory contains a large number of scenes, someoperations may take longer than
usual Saveyour recordings(1_[] 119) and initialize the memory (1_[] 41).
Movies or photos cannot be recorded properly.
- This may occur as movies and photos are recorded/deleted overtime. Saveyour recordings
(_ 119) and initialize the memory (_ 41).
After using the camcorder for a longtime, it becomes hot.
- The camcorder may become hot after using it continuously for long periods of time; this is not
a malfunction. If the camcorder becomes unusually hot or it becomes hot after using it only
