Important:
If the printer is left off for an extended period, the print head will be left uncapped and dry
out, and will not print properly when printing resumes.
Turning the printer on automatically caps the print head.
Reload the media and resume printing. See "Loading Media" on page 28.

Other Problems

The control panel display keeps turning off.
Is the printer in sleep mode?

Press the P button on the control panel to return to the normal state. The time before the printer enters sleep mode can be
selected in the Printer Setup menu. See "The Printer Setup Menu" on page 115.
The red light is on inside the printer.
This is not a failure.

The red light normally stays on inside the printer.
