2.1 Overview

This chapter describes the operating principle of the printer mechanism and electrical circuit.

2.2 Printer Mechanism Operating Principle

2.2.1.1 M-4I60 Printer Mechanism

This printer is composed of the printhead unit, paper feeding mechanism, CR mechanism and the pump
mechanism. The block chart for the printer mechanism is shown in Figure 2-1. The printer mechanism of
this printer has 2 motors: CR motor and PF motor. The torque from the CR motor moves the CR in the
column direction. The torque from the PF motor is transmitted to 2 ways: to the paper feeding mechanism
and to the pump mechanism. The direction is determined by the CR position. The release lever transmits
the torque from the PF motor to the tractor side to feed continuous paper.
