Feed-belt tension

Caution: danger of injury
Turn off the main switch.
The upper feed belts may only be tensioned with the machine switched
off.
Adjustment
The tension in the two feed belts must be such as to ensure that stitch
lengths are transmitted exactly.
Excessive feed-belt tension may lead to disproportionate wear and
malfunctions, e.g. the foot sticking in the upper position or failing to
descend fully onto the lower belts.
Adjusting the feed tension
Undo screw 1 and remove the cover 2.
Undo nut 5 and twist the eccentric bolt 4 with a screwdriver until
the narrow feed belt is tensioned.
Tighten nut 5.
Slightly loosen nut 7.
Twist the eccentric tension roller 6 with an open-ended spanner
until the front feed belt is tensioned.
Tighten nut 7.
Replace the cover 2 and secure with screw 1.
